Gorgeous water colors by Italian illustrator
Alessandro Sanna. Through his soft watercolors
shines the immutable light of existence. Life is radiant.

Beautiful Sculpture
Artist Jason Peters creates site-specific installations
with buckets. Often lit from within, the sculptural
pieces twist and turn like a glowing snake.
The work redefines the way we look at space and
offers a different perspective depending on whether
it is inside or outside, day or night.

Beautiful Line Drawings
Ha ha, these drawings by Victor Nunes made me laugh.
The ideas are endless. Clever, quirky and creative indeed.

Beautiful Rainbow Spectrum
A beautiful bright spectrum of colors to bask in whilst walking through
a cathedral of rainbows. To Breathe – A Mirror Woman is Kimsooja’s
site-specific installation for the Palacio de Cristal in Madrid, Spain.
To expand and unite the architectural structure of the space, Kimsooja
had the whole floor tiled in mirrors. She then covers the vault and the
entire glass surface of the palace with a translucent diffraction film.
When outside light filters through the glass and reflects off the film,
it creates a rainbow spectrum that is mirrored in every part of the atrium.
Beautiful Photography
Ballerinas and photography go together like
cake and ice cream. Sweet.

Beautiful Festival of Lights
I just added the Lyon Festival of Lights
to my bucket list of places I want visit.
The Festival of Lights in Lyon, France
(or Fête des Lumières) ignites a dazzling
light displays by artists from around the world.
By the end of it, between three and four million
visitors (I wish I was one of them) are expected
to have walked around the French city to see
the highly impressive light installations, which
this year include 80 works by 120 designers.
Impressive and beautiful.

Beautiful Architectural Exhibit
Love this colored pencil art installation by the
University of Minnesota School of Architecture.
The life-size exhibit represents the historical
moments of the school during their 100-year history.
The curvy installation is made up of 100 robotically-routed
plywood ribs that are joined together with 8,080 colored #2 pencils.
Clever, creative and unique.

Beautiful Sculpture
Real tree branches are indistinguishable
from fabricated ones in
Henrique Oliveira’s Baitogogo Sculpture
at Palais de Tokyo.

Beautiful Cabin in the Desert
Lucid Stead, by artist Phillip K. Smith III, is a
70-year-old homesteader shack’s weathered
and worn is transformed into a remarkable
vision that makes viewers question whether they
are hallucinating. The artistic, reconstructive
project adds an element of intrigue and
optical illusion through the addition of reflective
panels that echo the surrounding landscape.
Smith says, “Lucid Stead is about tapping into
the quiet and the pace of change of the desert.
When you slow down and align yourself with the
desert, the project begins to unfold before you.
It reveals that it is about light and shadow,
reflected light, projected light, and change.”
Beautiful Illustrations
These illustrations by Jaco Haasbroek
made me chuckle. Very clever play
on words and phrases. Amusing.

Beautiful Hotel Interior
I love the simplicity, eclectic and friendly character of this
renovated hotel in Alabama. So many boutique hotels
are over done and pretentious but not the Alabama Hotel.
Situated in the inner city, The Alabama Hotel has been
recently revived and re-opened after a near-decade
long hiatus. Its boutique budget status keeps a personal
creative feel without costing a year’s pay. Artwork on the
walls includes Tom O’Hearn, Aeden Howlett and Stu Dobell.
