Beautiful Photography

We all go through childhood, but no two experiences are alike. Whether it’s culture, class, and/or geography, it all shapes these formative years in a powerful way. But despite these differences, as young people, we each explore the world around us with the same sense of wonder and imagination. These varied snapshots highlight a universal truth about life—this juxtaposition of emotion starts when we’re young and never ends. We just grow older and wiser. Can you see yourself in any of these?

Beautiful 300 Year Old House Renovated

This home renovation in Tel Aviv is breath-taking.
This 300-plus year-old house is located in the ancient
port city of Jaffa, the oldest part of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa
municipality in Israel. The gorgeous renovation is by
the Tel Aviv-based Pitsou Kedem Architects
well-known for their minimalist approach to
architecture and design. The design maximizes
the sea view while keeping the historical feel of
the building intact. It feels like a sanctuary.
I love the gorgeous arches, the exposed texture
of the old stone, and the beautiful balance between
the old and the new, such poise. Seriously beautiful.

Beautiful Renovated Castle

This redeemed castle is stunning, I could live here.
Creativity, renovation and conservation at its absolute
best. Beautifully detailed and crafted.
Kudos to architectural firm Witherford Watson Mann
for winning the 2013 RIBA Stirling Prize, an annual award
recognizing the best in British architecture, for their
refurbishment of the 12th Century Astley Castle
in Warwickshire, England.

The medieval walls remain standing, gashes and all.
The renewed detailed construction of brick, concrete
and wood sits entirely within the ancient footprint,
visually enriched by the Castle’s imperfect remains.
As the architects explain, “The house is animated by
slashes of sunlight on stone walls and views over the
ancient landscape. At the dining table, you look out
from twelfth and twenty-first century construction
to fifteenth and seventeenth century walls –
the dialogue across the centuries frames
conversations between friends.”
A deserved recognition indeed.
