Today I learned about Skymetrics based on these
colorful, geometric architectural images. I’ve never
been so good at math but I’ve always liked geometry,
shapes and color.
The word skymetric is a construction composed
by: sky and -metric (geometric). The subject highlights
the decontextualization of places and architectural
spaces in order to alter the natural structure.
These places have in common the fact that all are
square, regular and schematic, so achieving geometric
shots in a minimalist context, where the simplicity and
cleanliness reign supreme. Another point in common is
the sky, in fact each shot shows with a light blue background
that decisively contrasts the brilliant colors of the shapes.
I love the colors, shapes and composition.
This photo is so inspiring. I don’t know
who the photographer is but I like it.
The architecture+pattern is
beautiful. I definitely need to pay
a visit Paris.
These Corset Wall Tiles by Arbutus+Denman
are beautiful. What a great play on words.
By being offset from the wall, the tiles add a layer
of depth playing with texture, shadow and pattern.
The boats at Greenlake, with their colorful, repetitive pattern
and texture, caught my gazing eye. Love the colors.
This home renovation in Tel Aviv is breath-taking.
This 300-plus year-old house is located in the ancient
port city of Jaffa, the oldest part of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa
municipality in Israel. The gorgeous renovation is by
the Tel Aviv-based Pitsou Kedem Architects
well-known for their minimalist approach to
architecture and design. The design maximizes
the sea view while keeping the historical feel of
the building intact. It feels like a sanctuary.
I love the gorgeous arches, the exposed texture
of the old stone, and the beautiful balance between
the old and the new, such poise. Seriously beautiful.
I stumbled upon this very interesting site about
material systems and fabrication. Very intrigued.
