Beautiful Architecture

I did something I haven’t done in a long time and attended
a book reading at the Seattle Downtown Library.
The subject was earthquakes presented by Sandi Doughton.
Interesting but only slightly unnerving at the same time.
Having lived in earthquake zones I’ve come to not fear
earthquakes; all you can do is be well prepared.

As I was leaving I was reminded of the beauty of the
library building itself and how I hope it never descends
into rubble.

However the real designer (who never gets credit)
is Joshua Prince-Ramus.

Beautiful Turtle

The Little Turtle

There was a little turtle.
He lived in a box.
He swam in a puddle.
He climbed on the rocks.
He snapped at a mosquito.
He snapped at a flea.
He snapped at a minnow.
And he snapped at me.
He caught the mosquito.
He caught the flea.
He caught the minnow.
But he didn’t catch me.

Beautiful turtle caught the eye of Gabe as he was biking
near University of Maryland, College Park.
And the random beauty of it is the UMD mascot is
a non other than a….Terapin. A true reminder that
slow and steady wins the race.
